About
Mesa Airlines

Mesa Airlines was a product of airline deregulation. The small family-owned company started as a one airplane, one destination operation flying from Farmington, New Mexico to Albuquerque. Over its forty-three years in business, it has grown into an all-jet airline. This book traces the history of Mesa through substantial growth and various challenges. This is an in-depth story about a successful regional airline in cut-throat industry. The book also traces many of the changes in the airline industry during the turbulent post-deregulation era. Several airlines failed during Mesa’s lifetime, and Mesa took advantage of that turmoil acquiring several of these carriers.

About Rampage

A paroled sex offender sexually assaults and murders a 13-year old school girl in Griffith Park. After learning that a witness reported his license number to police, he flees the Los Angeles area to avoid arrest. He is stopped by two different Arizona Highway Patrolmen in Eastern Arizona with each stop resulting in the death of the two officers. He then flags down an unsuspecting Missouri couple, kidnaps them, and takes them to an abandoned coal mine near Gallup, New Mexico. There, he shoots them both. The wife survives and reports the murder and their stolen VW bug to police. Officers in Grants, NM spot the crazed cop-killer and chase him down and put an end to his life in a hail of bullets Bonnie and Clyde style.

All of this takes place along America's famous, Route 66 - The Mother Road. The locations in this book will be familiar to any Route 66 fans and this book is a nostalgic look back at the Old Road during the transition from two-lane highway to super freeway.
