Book Update

Updated: Dec 4, 2023

I’m getting excited that my book is coming together. I started working on this book about Mesa Airlines in early 2004. After nearly twenty years, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. This week, I finished working with my editor on the final version of the manuscript. The book will be more than 300 pages long. I have filed a copy with the US Copyright Office and sent the completed manuscript to the Library of Congress for a control number (LCCN) which I will need prior to publication.

Then, my interior book designer is ready to create the book form of my manuscript in both electronic and printed formats. Once she does that, and I have an exact page count, my cover designer will be able to create a spine and back cover to go along with the front cover he already created.

It is looking like the book will be ready for publication in three or four weeks, and I will be announcing the rollout on both my webpage (www.indleggen.com) and on this Facebook page. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, please feel free to visit the photo gallery on my webpage (www.indleggen.com) Click "galleries" at the top and then click "Mesa Airlines Photos". I will entertain changes or additions to my photo gallery as I prepare for the book launch. If you have any photographs you wish to share, please use the “contact me” form on my webpage or send me a message via this page – David Johnson Writer.

Kitty O'Rourke, of CopyKat Editing in Chicago was my editor on my first book, and she just finished working with me on editing my current manuscript.

I have applied to register my work for copyright.

I am waiting for the Library of Congress to issue me a control number (LCCN) before I send the manuscript to the interior book designer. Charlyn Samson designed the interior of my first book, and I am using her services again.

My cover designer, Steven Novak, is the last step in the process prior to publication.
